Basic Skills Math
The Basic Skills Math Program at Northvail School helps develop the math skills needed for your child to build confidence and achieve academic success. We will work on building a strong mathematical foundation so your child will experience less difficulty with concepts that require the foundational skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplying, etc.). I work with the children in a small pull out group and/or in class inclusion.
At Northvail we work hard to foster strong and inquisitive mathematical thinkers. Math is all around us and we use it everyday. Look for opportunities to help your child increase their math skills. While you are shopping at the store or buying movie tickets, you can discuss prices and times. At home you can practice measurement while baking your favorite cookies. Look for numbers while you go on car rides. This all "adds" meaning to the numbers in your child’s life.

Symbaloo is a visualbookmarking tool that makes it simple and fun to organize the best of the web. You have all your favorite websites at your fingertips. I’ve created an account with links to free math sites I feel are noteworthy. By having this link, you can access your bookmarks from everywhere with any device.
Directions for use:
- Click on any tile to be redirected to that math website.
- Students can practice specific skills or randomly have fun playing math games on line.
- Check to make sure the link is age appropriate and not too hard for your child. (There are multi level abilities on many sites)
