My name is Rick Breiten and I am the school counselor at Northvail Elementary School. I have been the counselor here at Northvail since 2008. Before becoming the counselor, I was a 4th and 5th grade teacher for 10 years at Rockaway Meadow Elementary School. At Northvail, I am also the chairperson of the Intervention and Referral Services Committee, the Anti-bullying specialists and the coordinator for student’s 504 Plans. I work closely with the staff, students, and families to create a safe environment where students can reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work everyday at Northvail Elementary School. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and attending my kids sporting events.
